The Converse trainer was originally released in 1917 as Non-Skids, the forerunner of the All Star we know today, made from a rubber sole and canvas upper.
Over the years the Converse All Star has undergone various changes. This is the 1970's Chuck Taylor which features a higher rubber foxing along the sole, added cushioning in the insole and larger, chunkier toe box.
